Instant6 — The Details

Setting up Instant6

* Enter the domain name of your existing IPv4 web site into our Subscribe form.
* Enter your email address - we need this to send you your new IPv6 address.
* Use a credit card to pay the annual fee through a secure PayMate facility.
* In a few moments Instant6 will send you an email with your new IPv6 address, already operational.
* That IPv6 address is exclusively yours - it's not shared by anybody else and never will be!

How do I know my website is really IPv6-enabled?
Try a Looking Glass to trace the route from an overseas site to your website's IPv6 address: select a site, click Traceroute, put your new IPv6 address in the IP field, click Probe, and wait a few seconds for it to complete. This shows that your website is reachable via IPv6 over the global Internet.

I want to see IPv6 for myself...
Easy! First set up a FREE IPv6 tunnel - it takes only a few minutes, and will give your computer IPv6 access to anywhere in the world. Once this tunnel is working, simply put http://[your:new:instant6:address] into your web browser and you'll see your website via IPv6.

I want to type www.bertsflowers.com, not a bunch of numbers...
For this you'll need to get your new IPv6 address linked to your existing domain name - just ask your own ISP/Hosting Service to add a new AAAA record to their DNS zone file for your website. (We'll give you all the details in your Instant6 welcome email.)

And now for an exciting new development... We have introduced a new feature for paid subscribers: Receiving emails from v6 only visitors to your Instant6 web site on your plain old IPv4 only mail server!

So now once you have published your v4 site to the v6 world you can now seamlessly and painlessly receive emails from interested users without needing to change anything on your v4 mail server.

Plus there is no need to perform any sort of mailbox account management.

A further continuation of the Instant6 philosophy painless, quick, easy making your IPv4 world usable by the users of our favourite protocol, IPv6 - now we do your email as well as your website!

A couple of developments, first off, Jan Zorz has kindly reviewed Instant6 and in doing so set-up a little test site.

The review can be found at:

You may need to translate if your Slovenian is not up to scratch .

The test facility can be found at www.nety.net.

Hi guys,

We're announcing a change in our Business Model... and made our service more attractive to our community... we've introduced a free option, basically allocation of your permanent v6 address is now free, and you only pay if you wish to receive web stats report.

Plus we've halved the subscription from $A55 to $A27.50.

It's taken a few weeks for us to implement the new model on the website - it's all there now.

Looking forward to everybody's feedback.
