Comment by James Knott on August 27, 2011 at 4:55pm: Why not use the he.net DNS. It's 2001:470:20::2 and will allow you to use IPv6 for "white listed" sites, such as google.com. The gogonet DNS @ 2001:5c0:1001::194 will also work, but it has performance issues. If you install that addin I mentioned, you can see the difference when you go to sites like google.com

I was using OpenDNS but I've switched back to Shaw's default DNS servers. I guess I could also use the Google open DNS servers, 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

Comment by James Knott on August 27, 2011 at 2:59pm: While the DNS server may be IPv4 it can still resolve IPv6 AAAA records. To verify you have an IPv6 address, you can do ifconfig in Linux or ipconfig in Windows. You can also try going to ipv6.google.com. If you can connect to it, you have an IPv6 address. You can also install the "ShowIP" add-in, in Firefox or Seamonkey, to display the IP address of the server you're connected to. You'll be able to read both IPv4 & IPv6 addresses with it.
